One day, however, she managed to break free from his control and escape. She swore to kill all those responsible for her fate, including the Master himself. Using a needle, she carved into her own flesh the names of all her previous victims. It was only a matter of time before the names of her next targets were added to the list. The first of these was none other than Stingtail, the lizard who had branded her with that cursed scar. Sebille allowed herself to be captured and taken to Fort Joy in order to find Stingtail, who was there. There, she also met Saheila, an elven seer who revealed to her that Sebille was an Elven Scion — in fact, the First Scion. As such, she was destined to take the place of the dying Mother Tree. The Mother Tree was an entity capable of centralizing the memories and thoughts of all living elves in the world. The elves obeyed the Mother Tree and dedicated their lives to it. Over time, however, the Mother Tree became corrupted by impure thoughts and the desire for vengeance against other races. When the group, along with Sebille, finally encountered the Shadow Prince, she was ready. She entrusted the song of control to her closest companion to ensure she wouldn’t lose herself to the wrong person. Saheila also insisted on the necessity of destroying the Mother Tree. She feared that the elves would lose their free will, and destroying it would restore freedom to all elves. However, in doing so, Sebille would likely become the enemy of the entire elven people… Sebille's past before the events in Divinity: Original Sin 2 are stated in the graphic novel « Godwoken » from Larian Store.
